1. What this page is about
Some of the images on this website were created with generative image models and were not photographed. This page discloses which content this applies to and, just as important, which it does not.
The legal background is Article 50(4) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act). Under this provision, artificially generated or manipulated image content that may appear authentic must be disclosed as such. This obligation has applied since August 2, 2026.
We deliberately label more generously than the provision strictly requires. Anyone who offers schools an infrastructure should not push the limits of interpretation in how they present themselves.
2. Which images were created with AI
Portraits
All portraits of teachers, parents, and staff on this website are AI-generated. Among other things, this applies to the preference requests on the Timetabling page, the substitution and inclusion illustrations, the camera image on the Digital Classroom page, and the chat profile pictures on the Parent Portal page.
Scenes
- The classroom scene with students using tablets
- The student learning on a tablet on a train
- The close-up of a hand on a tablet for the digital class register
- The symbolic image of a regional train on the Class Register page
Each of these images carries the visible label “AI-generated” or a notice directly next to it.
3. Which content is not AI-generated
All product images show the actual software. Screenshots of the terminal, timetabling, the class register, the lesson planner, and the school office are real captures from the live system, not staged and not generated.
The logo, device frames, diagrams, schematic drawings, and clearly illustrative graphics are not AI-generated either. They carry no label because nobody could mistake them for a photograph; labeling them would itself be misleading.
Some sections show the interface as a recreated, animated depiction of a typical workflow. They depict real functions but do not run live against a school system; the names and data shown there are examples.
4. The people shown are fictitious
None of the people depicted exist. Names, subjects, quotes, and messages are examples that illustrate a typical school day. They are expressly not testimonials and not statements by real customers.
Any resemblance to living persons is neither intended nor known. Should you nevertheless recognize a resemblance to yourself or someone you know in an image, write to us; we will then replace the image.
5. Why we do not use real photos
The honest reason: promotional photos from real schools mean pictures of children. That requires consent from parents or legal guardians, which remains revocable for years, and it means images of minors on the open internet.
Generated images avoid this entirely. The price we pay is this disclosure; we consider that the better trade.
6. How we label
- Visible on the image: large AI images carry the label “AI-generated” in the corner of the image.
- Visible next to it: where portraits within an interface depiction are too small for a legible label, the notice appears directly next to the depiction.
- For screen readers: the alt text of every AI image states its origin.
- Machine-readable: the image files carry the IPTC field digitalSourceType with the value trainedAlgorithmicMedia.
The machine-readable information is a supplement, not a replacement: under Article 50(5) of the AI Act, the disclosure must be directly perceptible. A notice that appeared only in metadata or only on this page would not meet the obligation.
7. Text on this website
The text on this website is written and reviewed editorially. Where tools help with wording, full responsibility for the content remains with us. There is no labeling obligation for this under Article 50(4), third subparagraph, of the AI Act: it applies to text published to inform the public on matters of public interest, not to the presentation of one's own offering.
8. Distinction from the product
This page only concerns the images and text on this website. The privacy statement and the data processing agreement describe which processing takes place within the OhayoSchool infrastructure, which data is processed, and how schools stay in control of it.
9. Contact
Please send questions about this disclosure, notices of missing labels, or concerns about a specific image to datenschutz@ohayoschool.com. The people responsible are named in the imprint.
